The Fall of Man”

“A Blessed Christmas”

That is the prayer that Joyce and I have in our hearts for each of you …. that you have a Blessed Christmas.

This our first Christmas together as a church family — Ventura Jubilee Fellowship. I think just about everyone of us are convinced we have witnessed a miracle of God’s doing.

From our coming out to our going in, the LORD has lead us every step of the way. We are so honored to be with you and be your shepherd and wife. WE LOVE YOU AND THANK GOD FOR YOU.

In this Christmas greeting, I can’t help but think of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

This verse contains the greatest of all gifts. God loves to give and He always gives that which has great value — His love, peace, forgiveness, pardon, grace, mercy, spiritual life, eternal life and so much more. These gifts are not tinsel or trinkets. God loves to give these gifts to all who put their trust in Jesus and receive Him as Savior and Lord.

Listen to what Paul wrote in Romans 8:32,
“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave Him up for us all— how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”

In 1 Timothy 6:17, we are encouraged to “put our hope in God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”

Christmas is all about the extravagant love of God. Evangelist D. L. Moody wrote of his own experience about God’s love.

“I never knew up to that time that God loved me so much. This heart of mine began to thaw out; I just couldn’t keep back the tears. I just drank it all in., I took up that word ‘love’ and I don’t know how many weeks I spent it, studying the passage in which it occurs, till at last I could not help loving people!

I had been feeding on love so long that I was anxious to do good to everybody I came in contact with. I got full of love. It ran out of my fingers.

You take up the subject of love in the Bible! You will get so full of it that all you have got to do is open your lips, and a flood of the love of God pours out.”
What Mr. Moody experienced is the result of Romans 5:5,

“And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.”

Do you truly believe that God loves you? Have you experienced God’s love personally?

Are you willing to be a conduit of God’s love and pass His love on to others?

When you look closely at the word “love” you will see that it is always active. It is never passive. It is always doing something and usually to the benefit of others.

At this Christmas and throughout the New Year, lets each of us intentionally share God’s love with others.

In His Love,

Pastor Leonard
