Announcements Weekly November 7, 2017

1. Thank you for praying for my sister, Opal. She is in the hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. She has issues with heart, liver and a major colon infection. She is improving and greatly appreciates your prayers, and may go home soon.

2. This Sunday will be very special! Those of you who signed the “Affirmation of Faith” statement, at least two months ago, will now be recognized as Charter Members of Ventura Jubilee Fellowship. I hope you can be present to be recognized and to receive your membership certificate.

3. Let’s stock the Christmas Shoppe. This is a wonderful ministry supported by area churches and businesses to make sure that those less fortunate have a very meaningful Christmas. Be sure to stop by the box at the worship center exit door, and pick up a list of suggested Christmas gifts. You don’t even have to wrap them!

4. Our church believes in believer’s baptism. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. It is something He asks us to do. We practice baptism by immersion. From time to time we have those who were baptized as infants. That is different from believer’s baptism. Infant baptism is something your parents did for you and should be honored; however, nobody can accept Christ for you. Read Matthew 28: 19-20 to see what Jesus said.

5. This Sunday, we continue with our series on Abraham. We will learn so much from this man as he followed God’s leading. Let me encourage you to invite a friend.

6. Sunday, May 26th, the Teen Challenge Lady’s Choir will be with us. Their stories and music are terrific. If you know of anyone who has any kind of addiction, please invite them.

7. Thank you Lord for all of our veterans and military personnel. We appreciate you so much. This Wednesday, November 8th, at 2 PM, movie producer, Doug Stebelton, will be with us for a premier showing of his new documentary, “Heroes of World War II”.

8. Don’t forget … Sunday, November 19th is Pastor Leonard DeWitt Day! For event details, please pick up a blue flyer on the Information Table.

9. December dates to save: a. 3rd – Congregation meeting, immediately following the Sunday service.

b. 10th – Christmas musical by our talented choir and orchestra.

c. 10th – Camarillo Community Church Christmas Musical, staring “Lonestar”. Tickets available at the Information Table. We have excellent seating for this very special event.
